We’re back from summer break 🌈

Mags and I are officially back from our little summer break, which means we’re back to normal hours at the shop and are fulfilling online orders at our normal timeline (same or next day).

We enjoyed quality time with our niblings (ages 2-20!), celebrating Mags’s parents 50th (!!) wedding anniversary, and adventuring. We ate delicious food, saw some amazing critters, and I took a lot of naps. Overall, a resounding success. We couldn’t have done it without book buds Sage, Charlie M., Charlie Y., and Courtney being willing to keep our little shop open during the Montavilla Street Fair in front of a brass band stage (I hope your ears have stopped ringing) and the Hungry Heart staff holding down the fort during the other business days so we could stay open a little bit. Thank you thank you!

A lot of things have been going on behind the scenes, so buckle up for a slightly longer than usually newsletter. We hope to see you soon!

School Supply Drive 🎒

We are partnering with Black Affinity Group to collect new school supplies for their annual School Supply Giveaway! We have a donation bin in the shop to collect supplies. They are especially in need of tissues, hand sanitizer, combination locks, and electric calculators.

Saturday, August 15th is the last day to donate! If you are able, please help us help these middle and high school students start the new school year off strong.

Endless Wonders Books is excited to welcome local Sports Romance authors, Anita Kelly and Samantha Saldivar, for this very special event in celebration of Bookstore Romance Day and The Epicenter of Women's Sports Week happening next month in Portland!

We will chat with Anita and Sam about writing sports romance, being women’s sports fans, and the literary and women’s sports communities in Portland, then have a fun and casual round of women’s sports trivia (prizes will be won!), and then ending our evening with a joint book signing.

Was That Racist?: Evelyn Carter, PhD w/gita mehrotra, MSW, PhD

Endless Wonders Books is honored to welcome author Evelyn R. Carter, Ph.D. to celebrate the release of her debut book Was That Racist? How to Detect, Interrupt, and Unlearn Bias in Everyday Life. Evelyn will do a short reading from her book, and then will have what is sure to be a thrilling conversation with gita mehrotra, MSW, Ph.D. Following their conversation with be audience Q&A and signing.

This event is a great opportunity to start or continue your commitment to antiracism and combatting bias in your everyday life. Learn new frameworks and strategies to be antiracist in different contexts and environments. Evelyn’s book is full of amazing examples and simple, actionable steps. I had the pleasure of working with her at my last corporate gig and I am so grateful for us to be teaming up again for this event! You don’t want to miss it.
